With no annual fee and an introductory 0% APR for the first six months on purchases and balance transfers, the American Express Platinum Credit Card offers an exceptional combination of service and value.
1. MoneyBack: The rebate is not payable in respect of any month in which the minimum payment is not received by the due date. The rebate is not payable in respect of Cash Withdrawals, interest, fees, Balance Transfers, or expenditure in any one month exceeding the amount of your Credit Limit. An annual rebate on the aggregate amount of all Transactions (other than Cash Withdrawals) will be payable to you by us at the following rates:
- 0.5% for aggregate amounts up to £2,000; and
- 1.0% for aggregate amounts from £2,001 to £5,000; and
- 2.0% for aggregate amounts in excess of £5,000
2. American Express may vary the APR, interest rates and other charges from time to time.The minimum monthly payment will be 3% of the oustanding balance or £5, whichever is greater. The American Express Platinum Credit Card Balance Transfer calculation (0% APR) assumes a monthly interest rate of 0.0% based on the average line of credit of £3,000 with no annual fee. The American Express Platinum Credit Card standard interest rate for the first six months is 0.0% per month (0% APR) rising to 1.17% (14.9% APR) for goods and services and 1.17% (17.3% APR including Transaction Charge) for Cash Withdrawals. This rate is dependent on you spending £1,000 on the American Express Platinum Credit Card each year and on you always paying your Account on time. Otherwise the interest rate applied may be varied following a six monthly review of your Account. We reserve the right to vary the interest rates and Account management review criteria at any time at our discretion. Full APR details of American Express Credit Cards are included in Conditions on the Application Form. By introducing a six monthly review and two levels of interest rates we are exercising the right to vary reserved by us under the Terms and Conditions governing the use of the American Express Platinum Credit Card. Any further Balance Transfers after the first six months will be calculated at 9.9% APR until the balance is paid off in full. AMEX reserves the right to refuse any Balance Transfer requests. For example, we cannot accept Balance Transfers from overdue accounts, exceeded Credit Limits, overdrafts, loans, HP agreements or any AMEX Accounts. AMEX is not liable for any overdue payments or interest incurred. Payments to card companies will normally be made within 30 days from our receipt of your statements and we will advise you when payment is made. Payments to your Card Account are applied first to transferred balances, including transferred balances benefiting from promotional rates.
3. Refund Protection: Policy covers undamaged goods only and begins where any insurance or merchant returns policy leaves off. Up to £200 per item and £750 per Card Account per year. Certain goods excluded and policy subject to conditions of cover.
4. Purchase Protection: Insures against accidental damage and theft. Cover begins where any existing insurance you may have leaves off - for up to £20,000 per Cardmember, per year. Insurance offered through American Express and subject to conditions of cover.
5. When you use the American Express Platinum Credit Card you will not be held responsible for unauthorised charges online.
